4th of July

Our subdivision is across the street from Faithbridge Church and every year they throw a huge 4th of July celebration.  We put the kids in their stroller and made the trek across the way.
They enjoyed the free food

and the Face Painting

And the kid zone, which was especially nice because kids 6 and under had their own blow up thingys. The kids were very upset that the SpongeBob bounce house was for kids 7 and older!!
Sarah loved the slides
Jacob got confused without his sister.....
Sarah wanted to play in this dragon.  So we waited in line for 15 minutes, only to get to the front and have her change her mind.
So, back to the slides to gain some courage

Now she's ready, and she talks Jacob in to going in the dragon.

Or one would think, but he wasn't too fond of the gust of air that blew in his face...so he backed out.  But Sarah didn't know that.  She seems to be enjoying herself anyway.
That is until she realized she was alone.  My poor baby FREAKED out in the middle of this dragon.  Crying and reaching for me (I could see her through the window).  Several older kids tried to hold her hand and guide her through...but that just pissed her off even more.  So, she climbed up the slide and back down the rope and came charging out the entrance.

After the dragon episode, we did the slide again and again....John had to leave us and go to work.  So we stayed and listened to the band while waiting for the fireworks.  I can only assume that the fireworks were just as wonderful as they are every year.  As soon as they started, the kids were ready to leave.....
